Welcome to Vacaville Animal Care Center! We try to make every visit a pleasant one from the moment you walk in the door until you head home with your pet. Check out the pictures of our facility below, or feel free to stop by and take a tour during normal business hours.
Animal Hospital Policies
To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases will always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.
We accept drop-off appointments. Over the years we have learned that in order to provide the best medicine, it is imperative to obtain a complete history for all patients.
If you feel that you may be more than 10-15 minutes late to your scheduled appointment, we ask that you call us and arrange for a new appointment time.
We allow our clients one no-show per year without a charge. After that, each occurrence will result in a $58 charge to the clients' account, to be paid before any further appointments can be scheduled or services rendered.
Appointments may be canceled provided you call to cancel at least 2 hours prior to your appointment time. Appointments for 3 or more pets must be canceled 24 hours in advance.
If you need a medication refilled, please call our office at least 24 hours in advance. This gives us time for your pet's doctor to approve and refill the medication(s) that are needed. If your medication is approved you will be able to pick up your prescription the next business day after 2pm. Special orders take 1-2 weeks to arrive so plan ahead if your pet is on a special medication.
Special Food Orders
For those pets that are on a prescription diet: All special food orders need to be placed before 11am on Thursday. Hill's arrive Friday, Royal Canin foods arrive on Tuesday, and Purina foods arrive on Tuesday. Please remember to order food 1-2 weeks before you are out.
Patient Arrival Policy
Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we require you to restrain your pet. We recommend that animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.
We do not recommend allowing pets to greet others in the lobby for their safety. If you choose to allow your pets to greet others, please remember that many conditions pets are seen for may be contagious and not all pets may be comfortable at the vet.
Please tell a receptionist right away if your pet has been coughing, sneezing, having diarrhea or vomiting. For the safety of our patients and to decrease the spread of disease we may ask you to wait with your pet outside until an appropriate exam room is available.
We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. In special circumstances or for extensive procedures, a deposit may be required before your pet is treated. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Care Credit, cash and personal checks.
Due to an unfortunately high incidence of incorrect medications filled and lack of communication by online pharmacy companies like we will no longer be able to fax or approve faxed refill requests for online pharmacies. We are always happy to give you a hard copy of your pet’s written prescription. For those that prefer to shop online we have an on online store through VetsFirstChoice which works directly with our distributors and provide authentic and quality products that are safe for your pet.
