Dr. Gina Davis is excited to be joining Vacaville Animal Care Center with twenty-six years of experience as a small animal veterinarian. Prior to becoming a veterinarian, Gina was a high-school biology teacher; as you can see, she has always loved science.
Gina graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994 and then entered private practice in Northern California. In 2004, Gina returned to UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine as a faculty member and started the Community Medicine Service, which is now a required rotation for all small animal students. In 2016, Gina took on a new challenge and moved to Sydney, Australia, where she started a new Primary Care Service at the University of Sydney, School of Veterinary Science. In 2019, Gina made the decision to return home to California but she still loves all things Australian and will chat with you about all things Aussie if you give her a chance!
Gina obtained her board certification in Canine and Feline Practice with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in 2007. She is also in the process of completing a course in Veterinary Acupuncture and plans to obtain her certification shortly after completing the course. Gina loves all aspects of general practice, but has particular interest in vaccinology, clinical pathology and communication. In her “off” time, she loves gardening, home improvement/design projects and gathering with friends and family. She remains an avid Dachshund fan but readily admits cats are the best things ever created!
